Updates from around the state and Glacier Distilling of Montana strikes again.




Some updates from around the state. Earlier this month Adrift Distillery in Long Beach had their first release of a straight bourbon whiskey. The mashbill looks as if the bourbon should have a unique taste, it is made with malted barley, corn and triticale. Another item to add to my list to give me a reason to head to the coast.


Chuckanut Bay Distillery has released a potato vodka made from Yukon Gold potatoes. I am a fan of potato vodkas, it has a classic taste you don’t get in modern grain based vodkas.


Westland has a deal, buy 2 cask exchange bottles and receive limited edition pint glasses. The collaborations are with Silver City and Lucky Envelope Breweries. Westland has become one of my favorite distilleries and that is costing me a lot of money. Curse them.


Heritage Distilling has released ready to drink cocktails. They are a Bloody Mary, Raspberry Palmer and Pineapple Upside Down. They are available at their Ballard, Roslyn and Gig Harbor Waterfront locations.


I have another thing to look forward to this September while on my way to Yellowstone National Park. Glacier Distilling of Montana has released a Huckleberry flavored whiskey called Bearproof. They mixed fresh huckleberries with their excellent single malt whiskey. That is now 4 of their items on my list when I am in Montana.
